I can't believe I agreed to watch my niece Abby this weekend so that my sister and her husband could go out on a date. This seems like a really bad idea in retrospect.

Sometimes I wonder if my sister gets a thrill from seeing how far she can upset people. She didn't show up to Shabbat again last night. Probably went on another date with that bloke Simon again. Rachel always complains how family dinners get in the way of her social life. I really don't see what the big deal is. It's only once a week. And Mum and Dad aren't nearly as strict as say...the Levys or the Frankels. They wouldn't stop her from going out after dinner if she wanted.
That's why I think she does it just to spite them. It wouldn't kill her to spend a few hours with the rest of us. But no, she gets to party around London while Sarah and I have to listen to dad lecture us on respecting traditions and the importance of family. Which doesn't make any sense because we're the ones actually playing by the rules.

When I pick up the newspaper, I expect to read news. I don't want to have to sift through a page full of superfluous opinions in order to find the facts.
